I'm almost 6 weeks post op and when I and when i change direction or position I still have a fair amount of popping and clicking. Has anyone else expeienced this?

At 6 weeks post-op, I definitely was still clunking from time to time.

Don't forget the soft tissue has to heal (muscles / tendons, etc.) ...which can take up to a year even if the bone is locked in around approx. 6 months.

Dr. Gross told me to expect clunking, soreness, aches and pains with new activities, etc. up to a year.

hang in there...you have a way to go :)

I saw the Doc today for my 6 week check up. He agreed that it was nothing to bee too concerned about. I can't make it click on command, but based on his exam he thinks it's impingement resulting from a specific movement. The rotation involved in reaching for the outside of your foot. He says the impingement is occuring because the 'opposing' soft tissue is not strong enough yet to hold things in place. That movement, the outside of the foot thing, is my only remaining restriction. All other bending/movement restrictions are done!

I'm at 6 months out and still get a little knocking if I overdo it. At 6 weeks I had all kinds of knocking, clicking and clunking. For me it would kind of come and go depending on how much I did, and then started becoming less and less frequent. I started to just get used to it, once it happens enough times without your leg falling off or popping out of socket it won't freak you out as much :D.  It will gradually start to go away as all the muscles etc heal.
