I am new to this site, I am currently doing reseach for hip resurfacing. From what I have read Dr McMinn invented the Birmingham Hip and has performed over 1200 surgeries. Have you heard much about him?

It is certainly a very exprienced hip resurfacing surgeon.  Do you live in the UK?

Thanks for your quick response Pat. I was born in the UK but now live in Canada. It appears that the Canadian surgeons perform their operations outside of Canada. That’s way I chose Dr McMinn. Thanks for the links they have certainly helped. A common thyme seems to be do it sooner rather than later. I am currently 40 and was diagnosed with hip degeneration 10 years ago. Perhaps its time.

Actually McMinn has now done 4000 BHR's according to the latest at the Miami ortho conference last week.  He is an amazing surgeon, I was blown away by him.  He is charming and very funny as well as one seriously talented surgeon, extremely sharp.  As far as I am concerened the man walks on water.

Thanks for your comments. The last thing I want is a THR at my age (40) Dr McMinn certainly seems committed to the BHR.
