Pain 3 weeks after operation

My husband 47 yr old is in week 3 after hip resurfacing operation and he is in really bad pain in the inner thigh area.  I am really worried as he is taking more pain relief now then when he first left hospital.  The pain seems to be when he sits for any length of time or when he wakes from sleep.  He is rating the pain 9 out of 10 which is bad as he does not usually complain about pain.  Has anyone experienced such pain in the inner or outer thigh region? He is also not sleeping.

Surely your husband should contact the surgeon who did him, quickly.

I agree with lopsided... call the surgeon.  I am 6 weeks out and for the first 2 - 4 weeks my inner thigh was sore but not a 9 of 10.  Now - no pain at all.  I am sure that your surgeon will be happy to discuss.  Good luck. Don't forget to ice...
