Hippies on RAGBRAI (bike ride across Iowa)?

Hi Hippies,
Getting ready for the big bicycle event - RAGBRAI - the ride across Iowa. For one thing, it's a little bit special because the last time I did this, 5 years ago, was right after I went to my doc for hip pain and had xrays taken that ultimately indicated hip OA. Now 3-plus years after resurfacing, I'm able to again participate in this event with my family (and 10,000 other cycling friends), and I'm sure I'm in better shape.
I was looking at the RAGBRAI forum, and there was a posting about riding with a bad knee. That got me thinking that among the 10,000 some people there would likely be some other riders w/ resurfaced hips. Anybody on this group?

Hey Dirk,
That's amazing. Can't wait till my doctor lifts all restrictions so that I can compete again. Lots of luck to you. Please let us know how did it go.

Dirk-

That is great that you will be participating in an activity that you love again! I am hoping to do the same once I am healed from my upcoming BHR.

I am thinking that we need Team HR shirts and cycling jerseys. That way we can identify each other at these events.
