Hard to believe it's been 3 weeks already. I had surgery on a Monday, that Wed. I whent to rehab hospital and was there for 1 week. I didn't want to go but in hind sight believe it was a smart decision for me. I have PT comes to my house 2-3 times a week plus I have a list of exercises that I do twice a day basically since day 4. I walk about a block down to stop sign twice a day with a cane. I can walk without it but not very straight. The first 5 days following surgery they had me so drugged it was insane. I was up and walking with walker about 4 hours after surgery. My idea. they were perfectly happy for me to pee in a jug thing. :-[ 2 weeks after surgery I was able to help out with some basic housework chores, load dishwasher, vacume, junk like that. Staples came out out Friday ( 26 ) so on Sat. I took a normal SHOWER  ;D. In PT they made us this big list of stuff they said we would need at home, All I needed was grabber, cane, toilet riser, sock putter onner thingy, sponge on a stick, some drugs and a realy helpful wife. they said we had to have one of those tranfer benchs to get in and out of tub but I never used it. In hind sight about all I would have done differently is I would have have bought a nice recliner. on a lighter note, While I was in recovery room they took the trapeze off my bed so they could wheel the x-ray machine over me and take x-rays of my new hip, then they put it back on. later in my room the nurse said I could grab the trapeze to pull my self up and when I did it fell on me. The gals in x-ray didn't put it on correctly. >:( The pain after surgery was alot more then I expected. I"m feeling alot better these days. Almost no hip or lower back pain, most pain I have is knee and lower leg but every day gets better.
