My First venture on his web site. I had my right hip resurfaced in the UK in March 2009. I have since cycled and swum any where and for quite long periods. (e.g. 5 days 100m miles a day bike ride).

However, after being a decent triathlete - post op now 2 years 7 months I am unable to run continuously for more than 10minutes without a deep aching/burning sensation coming from 'inside' my right hip.

I wonder is this common? What might it be?
Thanks
Peter

Have you seen your surgeon? There are several possibilities (not a medical professional here, just a patient). The best thing to do is to talk to an expert and make sure that there's no issue with your device. If not, other things can pop up, muscle irritation or bursitis. I'd go to the doctor and make sure the device is right, then go from there.  Good luck, Peter.

I am 4 years post surgery, and I noticed the same thing (pain after 15 minutes of running). I am going to check with my doctor. However, I suspect this is  not really pain but muscle exhaustion, because as soon as I stop running the "pain" goes away and after a minute I can resume walking or even running (although in the latter case, the "pain" comes back; just as muscle exhaustion would). I was prescribed weight training exercices after surgery, but after a while I did not keep up with them and even though I play recreational soccer, I suspect I have not quite redevloped the hip muscles where I should have; will be going back to them to see if it makes a difference. Just my opinion based on the "pain" not really be a "pain".
