I'll post the first one of Chuck and I in Pittsburgh last weekend.  This is the first time I met Chuck in person.  He found a marina where I could dock my boat for a few days.  We got to see all three rivers in Pittsburgh.  A lot of fun.  Thanks Chuck!

Here is a photo of my boat.  I just bought it a month ago and traveled from Southern Ohio to NH to pick it up.  It is a l989 Sea Ray 220DA.  It is older like I am, but runs great!

Thanks Ed. Pat mentioned New Hampshire in the opening post, that is a picture of NH in the distance, but taken from a 100 miles or so away in Vermont with a zoom lens. Skies were on fire yesterday morning and as they say, rain today!

No problem getting in and out of the boat.  It's a nice big boat and very steady.  The problem is the arthritis in the rest of my body!  LOL  The Hip is great. It will be 6 years old in March.  I started with a cuddy cabin boat early spring and it was difficult bending over to be in the cabin, so I watched for a regular cabin cruiser with standing room.  I found it at a very reasonable price.  Now I can stand up in the cabin and the little head has room to turn around in   :D   Love the water - hate the price of gas!

We are boaters too. What lakes do you boat on?  We boat on lake st Clair in Michigan. Glad the new boat is working out for you.

I live in Marietta Ohio and boat on the Ohio River and the Muskingham river.  I am right on the Ohio - WV line.  Actually WV owns the river that borders on Ohio, an interesting fact.  My new, old boat is a Searay 220 and is just right for trailering.  We go up to Lake Erie and dock in Sandusky so we can go around the islands.  Next year we want to go up to Presque Isle near Erie  in Pennsylvania.  I have seen the area and the water is nice there.


The river is much calmer boating, but Lake Erie is fun too.  Some high waves at times.

I sailed on St Clair way back in the 70s. 

Maybe us Surface Hippies should have a boat get together!

Sorry about the double post. We have boated to puttin bay several time. Great boating destination.  I agree on the hippy boat club!

We discovered Presque Isle last summer, albeit from the land, but we're very impressed with it.  Gorgeous beaches for Lake Erie and as nice as many I have seen in the upper lakes.  Certainly much different than those beaches in NE Ohio; hard to beleive I've lived in the area nearly 50 years and had never been there before.

Some dog-friendly beaches (unsupervised) as well.  Very cool bike path going all the way around it.  Can't wait to get through the surgeries and recovery to get my canoe on the inland side waters within the peninsula itself, its only 30 minutes from where we will retire.  I hear the weekends in the summer are very crowded all around.

Yes, the bike trail is really nice along with the beaches.  I was very impressed, too.  Maybe we will have to have a water get together!

I can't wait for spring! Some nice photos to daydream about.
