Why is it so painful. A bad night means a painful day. Each night is scary.

Hi,
So sorry to hear that you are in pain and having trouble sleeping. That's the worst! Makes the day miserable. Do you have some kind of medication to help with the pain so that your time before surgery is more comfortable?

I worked with and still work with a pain specialist doc to help me with pain. It can make a big difference. Post surgery I am doing something totally different for pain than I did pre surgery. Having a pain specialist as part of my health team is critical to my making progress. Not everyone feels pain the same. I'm a total wimp when it comes to pain.

Hope your sleeping improves and your pain decreases.

Probably a lot of reasons, the OA / bone on bone friction, muscle atrophy, etc. All of those, plus the lack of sleep have gone away for me, they will for you also; after the recuperation it is much better.
