Hi Neil

I'm doing ok. Difference for me is that I wasn't in that much pain even though from my x-ray I was "bone on bone". I had the surgery 13 days ago and I'm improving every day. Even at this early stage my range of movement when i lay on my back and let my leg fall out to the side is probably better than it was pre-op. I cannot feel any arthritic pain but hard to tell as I'm still quite sore & tight from surgery.

The first consultant I saw basically told me to live with the pain as long as possible. Then my wife did some research and came across mr Mcminn's website and the possibility of BHR. Once I came to the realisation that at 37 it wasn't a case of if, but when i would need some form of hip surgery the decision was easy. Mr McMinn pointed out that I could last another 2 or 3 years and then I would be 40 and his advice wouldn't change (still too young to consider a THR).

Just look at some of the amazing success stories. People playing football, skiing, squash etc one year post op! Can't wait til I get to that point!

In short, definitely get a second opinion!

Grant
