How long before your other hip went?

Hi Patty,

If my options were HR now, or THR in a year or two I would get the HR now, no question. I don't even have to think about it.

I am however, male, so my decision is a smidgen easier than yours.

I was just thinking about my left hip which some days gives me major grief but others not so much and thought maybe I should ask about getting it done but then it dawned on me that since getting the right one sorted my activity levels have been increasing all the time so my left is having to do so much more than my right did before HR. Before my op I would have to give up walking after a few hundred yards and that was on pain killers. Now I get worried when my left hip complains after a four mile walk without pain killers. I have not taken any since my initial recovery period so I am not comparing like with like. I think I will push for my left sooner than I did with my right because I am not in denial about having OA and don't want to feel like an old git again.
