A Beautiful Day in L.A.!

Hello Everyone!

Just wanted to say I had a great day in L.A. today thanks to my hip resurfacing!  Actually L.A. County...Puente Hills...hiking through my childhood stomping ground.  I've been down here (from Alaska) working for a couple of weeks and decided to take a break today and do something fun.  I'm sort of in B.I.L.L.'s neck of the woods, so he can probably attest to what a gorgeous day it was today.  I'm estimating 100 miles of visibility, minimal clouds and probably low sixties!

My one year anniversary was back in October, but not too much to share back then other than shoveling the driveway.  Today's hike involved the aforementioned meteorological conditions plus...lots of green hillsides, an amazing amount of furry coyote scat, sucking bubbles on the grades because of lack of recent cardiovascular conditioning, watching hawks cruising through the air looking for their next meal, playing "Frogger" with mountain bikers along the trail, a tasty picnic lunch with a view in the distance of downtown L.A. looking as though you could reach out and touch the buildings, but the cherry on top...not a whimper from my hip!

That sounds great.  Better than here, 25 to 31 F in and overcast.  Don't mind the cold if the darn sun would come out. 

Froze me hiney on the bike ride in to work today, but hip felt great.  Can't complain.
