Bursectomy?

Hi Hippies,
I will most likely have to have a bursectomy within the next couple of weeks. I've developed a calcified bursa over the trochanter region, and it sticks out like a large golfball!! You can see it in leggings or skinny jeans, and it's pretty strange looking!
Has anyone had this done? Recovery time? I'll be asking my OS tomorrow, also, when he calls to set up this surgery. :(
