how long did you use polar care

I have been pretty consistent with the polar care in the first week of recovery. How long did others use it? First week? Two weeks? Longer? How often during the day?

The first week I used it 3 times per day. Second week 2 times per day. Since then, may be I used it one more time.


It really helps with the swelling the first week. Now that I can start to put some weight in my operated leg, and start walking more, I am planning on using it after the exercises to control swelling and pain if needed.

Often the first two weeks. The third and fourth weeks, one period of sitting down and icing a day (more or less).

Not at all. No swelling no need. Both hips done 5 days apart.

An hour on / hour off for the first few days, then still a lot through the first week. Second week probably twice/day and stopped after that. A couple of times I've overdone it since and ended up icing but the machine has been put away.

I found it extremely helpful for pain control as it really diminished the aching, but I never had any major swelling.

I never used one. In fact, I didn't even know what a polar ice machine was until I read posts referring to it.

I think I am going to start using it again! Almost seven weeks and feeling too bold today.
