I posted this over on the other hippy site, also...I was doing some research about metal ion chelation therapy for Cobalt and Chromium and came across the article below where 2 patients with high blood levels of these metals were given large doses of N-Acetyl Cysteine which appeared to be very effective at safely lowering the metal ion levels in the blood.

This appears to be a relatively new therapy and as such there isn't a lot of material out there...at least that I've found.  Just thought I'd share with everyone.

Hi Pat
I’m 8 years out with bilateral hip resurfacing, haven’t been to website in along time. last year my metals were up 5.7 chromium and 2.8 colbalt . New Kaiser Dr want to pull hips if they go up more. I’m trying this N- Acetyl Cysteine, to see If it helps. I’m very active as a rower, no other problems with hips I love them.

Nice hearing from you. You might want to send your x-rays and test results to several of the other very experienced surgeons who do free email consultations and get some more input. Always nice to have more than one opinion.
I hope you don't need to have a revision, but only the surgeons can tell you that.
Looking forward to your updates.
