5 year anniversary and 9 /12 year anniversary

Just had my 5 year checkup on the left hip (Schemitsch - London ON Canada). X-rays according to Dr. S, were outstanding / excellent. He examined my walk and said he could not tell I even had hip surgery.
I have sent the x-rays down to Dr. Gross for right hip review as I don't get to South Carolina on any quasi-regular basis.
I don't think about my hips in any aspects of my daily life or activities. I play golf (mostly walking - 4 times a week, just resumed playing winter ball hockey in a gym at age 64.
Dr. Schemitsch said one could get 30 years of service+ out of BHP if one avoids heavy sustained impact sports.
Thank you Pat and the frequent comments by posters such as Hernau - they certainly gave me the confidence in making the right decision to preserve bone and elect for BHP surgery providing your femoral head and bone density is sufficient.
