I'm 78 years old, went into hip surgery in 2007, brazilian orthopaedic state hospital. Only left side, device C+. Surgery executed by Dr Pina Cabral. I'm retired now, but the hip device still in good shape. I waited 25 years for a real device that could give me back my physical health.

June 2025 will be 5 wonderful years, an active life of somewhat heavy labor catching up on maintaining my property and home, no Nsaids. Thank you Dr Gross. 

I was on crutches 6 years before my operation.  People in my community amazed at my recovery often ask about picking Dr's for their operations or procedures.  3 Points I make: interview your doctor ask hard questions about their failure rates,  ask about the surgery facility infection rate,  have a conservative rehab, making the point "don't screw this up, give it time to heal" .  Then look up the data on the Dr and the facility, if you can find it.

I bring this forward because too many recent anecdotal stories at a local hospital of post operative infections at local hospital Howard County General Hospital. I think 3 years ago my State of Maryland had at least quarterly data I could find facility reports of adverse incidents which was good data.  Recent searches had me befuddled as the data was now annual, and 2 years old. 

If you get a politicians ear, talk about whatever aspect of healthcare you can, including this and need to require doctors make housecalls for the ambulatory population.  Thanks and good luck.
