Bilat BHRs, one months apart.

I'll be taking my first plane trip since the surgery on Friday.  Looking forward to the TSA massage.

I had a bilateral Birmingham Hip Resurfacing on December 20th, 2011 at (Detroit Medical Center) DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital's Private Room Orthopedic Unit, located in Commerce, Michigan.

Dr. Schmitt (Dr. Detroit) is awesome.

Is there perhaps a page describing the different devices?  I've been told that I will receive a similar device to the BHR, but it is less expensive.

Rosey

There are only 3 hip resurfacing devices FDA approved being used in the US.  BHR, Cormet and Wright Conserve Plus.  Dr. Gross uses the Biomet which has both components FDA approved, but not approved as a device.  It is used "off label" for insurance coverage since both components have been approved separately.

I would always ask the surgeon just what I was getting and what size.  They should give you a card telling that after your surgery.
