Mudpro,

Wow...my wife thinks my scar looks like a shark bite.  I didn't get the sense it was a turn-on.  I'll have to charm her I suppose...It will become my mission to beat your record...Day 24, huh?

I counted on my fingers and toes and still had one foot left to go, so I'm sure it is 15 days.  I've poured slabs before, but wouldn't call myself a concrete guy.  Records are meant to be broken...Terry?

Guys.

Thnx for the inspiration.  It's Day 16 and I was happy to learn that everything is still in fine working order.  The steri strips do dampen the eroticism however,

Funny, only the guys chimed in on this one!  I remember the occupational therapist told me when it's time, to only take the "passive position".  Is that what you all did?  Did you make the ladies work or did you do the work?

We started out with the wife on the side of the bed with me standing, but then we progressed to her on top, that's fun I was always tired of doing all the work anyhow so it was like a vacation for me for a few months.

Now with my new hippie anything is possible I'm like I was when I was in my 20s now.   ;D

Does having my catheder removed count as sex?

Side by side works well until the crutches get tossed.  After that many things are possible, but I wouldn't recommend sitting back on your heals unless you have great confidence in her balance and strength.

The HSS (Hospital for Special Surgery) distributed a manual for hip replacement and hip resurfacing patients during a pre-surgery class.  About 15 patients attended.  One chapter showed the do's and don'ts of various sexual positions for male or female, operated and unoperated.  No, they didn't show a operated patient having sex with another operated patient.

I feel kind of funny chiming in on this one but I feel the need to give hope to my fellow female surface hippy's to be.   I had my left hip resurfaced on Monday July 27th with Dr. Schmalzried in Los Angeles :).   I was home from the hospital on Wednesday the 29th.   The following Monday, August 4th I was able to be a wife to my husband again, although I wasn't as active a participant due to some restrictions.     However, a few days later I was just about back to normal.   No one was more surprised than I was!!!

Hey I'm right up there with you,as a woman and a wife,I had my THR done on august 11th and by August 20th I was able to be a wife to my husband in that sense also. Nobody could have convinced me before surgery that I would be feeling this great so soon. I waited 5 years to have this done because I am fairly young (42) and I feel better than I have in years.Watch out hubby I'm back and better than ever.HeHeHe.(Yes, a little bragging on my part)

Day 14.  right BHR on 9/29/2009; had relations with my wifey on 10/13/2009.

I was in pretty good shape before the surgery and my recovery has been quite fast.

Just like riding a bike.
We can rebuild him.  Better than before.  Better, faster, stronger...
