« on: February 27, 2009, 09:18:12 PM »
My doctor lifted all 3 restrictions after 6 weeks post op.  I was wondering when everyone else had their restrictions lifted ??   He said I can now do everything except run and jump....    let me know about yourself ...

My doctor lifted all restrictions at 2 weeks except no running or jumping for 6 months.

At six weeks, it was declared by my doctor as my "day of freedom"  - no restrictions. Earlier, I had asked him when I could get on my bike again and begin riding (non-motorized version) and he said 3 months.  When I asked him about my next marathon, he gave me a blank stare - no response......

I had no bending restrictions and could begin physical therapy even after discharge from the hospital.  My restrictions were to not lift over 20 pounds for three months, then not lift over 50 pounds for another three months, then all restrictions lifted at 6 months post-op.  Impact sports are restricted until 6 months.
