Welcome Back

The Hip Talk Discussion Forum was hacked a few weeks back. It has taken me a long time to fix it. The only backup I could use was way back to April 2020. All members and posts up to that date are available. Anything newer has been lost. I am sorry, but that has been the only way to get things up and running again.

Triathlon Camp
« on: March 29, 2009, 09:56:03 PM »
We just completed our week long triathlon camp here in sunny Tucson, Arizona. I was one of the coaches leading the bike rides. we rode over 350 mile over many hills and Mt Lemmon twice. My hip was great. I am one day past the 9 month post op date and couldn't be happier with the results. Here are some pics:

Awesome pics!  You are quite the cyclist?  Where are the aerobars  ???

I still need to make some time and come ride with you in Tucson.

P.S. I am now four months post-op and am doing the Houston - Austin MS 150 this weekend - 180 miles.  Should be quite pleasant with my new hip!

Hey Steve,
Good to hear from you. No aerobars except when time trialing :D
Time flies doesn't it? I'm glad you're feeling good. Come on over anytime. I'm taking a corporate group up to the top of Mt Lemmon on Sunday. I can't imagine a more enjoyable job!

Have fun with  the 150, I'm sure you'll have fun. Keep in touch.

Hey Terry,

Thanks. I started riding on the roads at 5 weeks post op. Just went for an hour easy. I gradually built my base back up. I didn't do anything hard until my 50th birthday in November
at 5 months post op. The key, I think was incorporating some resistance exercise with the road riding and listening to my body (and my doctor).  So I basically did 16 weeks of base training and built back by doing easy rides until I could complete a 3 hour ride with no discomfort.

Take care,

spencer
