When the physical therapist came in the day after the surgery and get me walking I stood and fainted and woke up with about 20 nurses and doctors around me. I know it was from the meds they immediate put me on. They stopped the drip and gave me 2 vikadins(sp?) and a hour later that's when I past out. From that point I have not taking any more pain meds. I take the blood thinner and tylenol to go to sleep, that's it.

Ouch, I didn't quite have that reaction, I just sat down and about 20 mins later, was sick.

Unfortunately, I did have a similar problem.  I walked to the restroom for the first time about 24 hours after surgery and when I stood up I passed out.  It is probably worth warning people who are going in to have surgery to be more careful about this possibility.  I am just thankful I did not knock anything loose or do any further damage when I hit the ground.

I had a similar problem.  They got me up after 24 hours.  I walked with a walker about 10 feet.  I told them I needed a chair.  I sat down and promptly passed out.  They said I was only out for about 10 seconds.  When I came to, I threw up.  After that, no issues.  I wish I had known that was common.  I didn't mind, but it scared the heck out of my wife.

Good luck with your recovery!
