Is it necessary to wear spikeless golf shoes?

Why not wear spikes?  Spikes help you from slipping.

I read (? source) that after a hip replacement , it was recommended to go spikeless  although I don't recall the rationale. It certainly is easier to shop for shoes with spikes. Still not golfing weather.

I can't say that I've ever read that, I would think you would want good footing, I've played last season with spikes, in Feb I was in Tampa and forgot my shoes, so I wore tennis shoes, that was a wierd feeling.

I would consult Lee or Dr. Gross, for me post-op 8 weeks I could accomplish a full turn without any problems with spikes.

The really funny thing, at 8 weeks post-op I could outdrive my golf buddies that I almost never beat before because I could not get the full turn and my chest pointed at the target.  I found an article by golf fitness magazine but in my quick search I did not see a surgeon quoted.

I had my right hip done though and that is the easy hip for golfing post-op.

Last summer which was my first summer post-op I went whitewater rafting, water skiiing and many amusement parks without any issues, I've fallen on my hip several times and it's still going strong.

Since my surgery I usually whoop my buddies on the course as I was really handicapped pre-op, most days I could not finish 18 in a cart I was so bad.
