Never worry about "downer" posts.  Here you are among friends.  People that understand what you are going through.  We all want to support each other.

Thanks for encouragement.  Seattle works well for me for several reasons otherwise I would probably have gone to Dr. Boyd in Salem.

Good job Luann!  I can't even image trying to sit on a horse.  I did about 5 years ago and I could barely get off the horse.  Now that I think about it, that might have been one of the first times I noticed something was not quite right.  I'm hoping to get back on a unicycle with my kids, that's down the road.   I'll take bicycling first, though.

I did just get "back on" the chainsaw, though.  2.5 months post op and I was 50 feet in a huge cottonwood (with fall protection of course) cutting some big branches, it was fun, but my bad hip paid for it.  Can't quite climb a tree like I used to.
