2 yr post op anniversary
« on: November 07, 2010, 09:26:25 PM »
Hey all just wanted to check in on my 2 yr post op day. Almost can't believe it was 2 yrs ago today that i had my life changing surgery ;D ;D ;D. The way i chose to celebrate today was going down to the beach all day and surfing. Had a great day and want to report all things are going well with the new hips and they are giving me no problems whatsoever. I have read reports from people who have said they feel better and stronger with greater ROM on their 2yr post op day from their 1 yr post op day. Well I have to say the same thing , I have noticed an improvement from last yr. Just wanted to share the good news with everyone. Thanks to all who have posted info on this site , you have helped me more than you will ever know.

Congratulations Wayne!  Great for dropping by.  I am glad you shared your experience since so many people think they will be healed in 6 months.  It takes time for the body to really heal and it does get better and better for some people after one year.  We just need to adjust and let our bodies heal.

I hope we will hear from you again next year.  Good Luck.

Hey Wayne,
I still say you are way too spoiled ;). On a good wave day here, you get to share the wave with 50 other windsurfers and kiters.
Last week was truly epic though. They were calling the surf heights 20 to 30+ feet. The wind was relatively light, so I just floated my floaty waveboard with a 6.1 out through the channel (which was only breaking overhead), and bobbed on the outside until I could pump my way onto one of the monster set waves. Great 25+' drops followed by quarter mile long mast-and-a half high walls.
When its that big, and the wind is that light, it keeps the crowds down, and they are my favorite days. Almost as uncrowded as a Wayne day at Sano's. ;D

Kiters rule, windsurfers drool!!!

Whoo whoooo, its two years!   A great 2 years has been..enjoy the ride!

Way to go Wayne!

Eric

But seriously, the best thing I can share is the fact that I discovered in the last 2 years is the Lymph draining massage that helped drain me around my implant and turn a groin pull feeling into a I forgot I was in pain there 2 weeks later.(3 massages)

Aloha and b safe!

You'll do any thing for a massage Eric. He He He      Indeed a great 2 yrs its been for us.
John that sounds way epic, light winds and big waves usually scares the best of them out of the water.
Glad your not one of them ;D ;D ;D.

Wayne,
Thank you so much for your update. After getting better and going on with their lives, it seems that many HR patients drop out of this site. We "new" hippies love to hear how people are doing even years after their sx.
I am now at almost 6 months post op, and about 95% of the time I don't even notice my hip anymore, it feels so normal!
I just love to hear it just keeps getting better!!

Thank you again! Keep up the active, fun living! Luann

Luann,
That is great news at 6 months out how well you are doing. Remember how you are now and in 6 more months you will be doing even better and stronger. Keep up the good work.

Way to go Wayne-O.  I was ahead of you by 3 months and have watched your progress.  I also notice a big difference from 1 to 2 years.  Although there's "No Surf in Cleveland" I do get to snow & waterski on my new hip.

Take care,
Bill
