Getting clicking when walking without a cane
« on: December 08, 2011, 10:05:00 AM »
So, I'm 4 1/2 weeks post op and walking without the cane.  I'm feeling a slight clicking feeling that I think is coming from my hip but it's quite faint that I'm not exactly sure where it's coming from.  Is this normal or do you think something might be going on?

Pretty normal, Pete - You just got off the cane, so you don't have the support you're used to and the smaller muscles are going to have to work harder to keep everything in place.

You'll get this to a lower degree for a while, but if you get concerned, call Dr. Snyder and ask about it. I still get clicking once in a while, seems to be more when I'm standing in front of the mirror just after I get up. IMO it's pretty normal.

Clicking is very normal.  3-1/2 years out I still get some clicking in the morning or after a lot of exercise.  I am trying to figure out if it has something to do with dehydration for those that are more than a year out.

It seems to only happen earlier in the day.  Glad to hear this is normal.
