Would it be easier to go home in a car or truck?

I rode in a Honda Accord, front seat reclined comfortably and had no problem at all with the choice of vehicle. I think as long as you are able to move the seat back up and down to get comfortable, that is most important. Take some pillows along and folded blankets to help with support.

I just drove home today (3.5 hours) in a minivan.  Similar to getting into a pickup, or at least more pickup-like than a car.

I chose this vehicle so that I would be going UP to get in.  My fear of using the car is that getting into a low seat will be harder to keep the 90 degree rule.  That may not be true, but I didn't want to risk it.
