A fun Maui Hippie trip
« on: January 22, 2012, 11:10:01 PM »
We went on our 25th anniv trip to Maui where I was able to do some crazy things like Zip lining in the West Maui Mountains, Scuba, Snorkeling etc.  Those are things I would have never tried in years past.

That's so cool Chuck. I love Maui. Haven't been in years....but your trip has inspired me to give it some serious consideration. :)

Congratulations on being able to do all those wonderful and fun physical activities.

We did 3 1/2 hours of zip lining.  We had to walk a good distance up and down uneven rocky hills and I had not problems.  When you stopped on the other side is when it gets interesting, you have to start running when you get to the far side platform, but my hip was never an issue, 4 years ago I could NEVER have done anything.

Just walking Front street in Lahaina would have been impossible without the hip surgery.

These are the mountains we crossed while zip lining, they were awesome, behind the camera would have been a view of the very blue pacific ocean.

I love Yosemite and Sequoia National parks, love Northern Cali pretty much up to San Fran.

I offered up a tour of the West or Maui, they took Maui, I would have been happy to see the West.

Early Congrats Bill.

Never been to HI. Going this summer and looking forward to a lot of water stuff.  I'm jealous, looks like fun.

You cannot miss on a trip to Maui, that's for sure.

Wait till you are at least a year out before zip lining, you come in pretty fast and you have to be running when you hit the landing zone.

That's a long ride, Chuck - did not make it both times I tried, just decided to turn back and go to the beach.

We made trip 20 years ago, then again a few weeks ago, the last one was VERY tough, especially on the way back.

The road has 600 sharp turns, 50 one lane bridges and lots of very tight areas where 2 vehicles cannot possibly make it at the same time.
