Very impressive! I didn't get to that point for quite some time after 7 weeks. I became very attached to my plastic sock putter-on gadget!

Atta Boy, ipibbski45!!!  I'm 42 days post op and can now put on my socks too!

I always used "The Claw" before.  Now, I get my socks on by first laying on my back, next, I bring my knee up while being careful not to break the 90 Degree protocol, and then sort of butterfly my knee out so I can get my big toe in the sock.  I do pants the same way if I'm in a huge hurry and have misplaced my "Claw".

Again, VERY COOL! 8)

The next mile stone for me was cutting my own toe nails for the first time in nearly 2 years! Gross I know but it's the little things like that that make a huge difference to our return to a normal life!

Danny, we've talked about raised toilets, when we go, incision drains and (gasp!!) Our feelings! I think we can do toenails.

Congratulations!  The average person takes for granted the fact that they can put on their own socks and shoes without horrible pain!

I remember being post op and using the sock tool to do my socks... gradually I was able to get down further and further until I could do it myself.  I'm not abou 11 months post op and I put them on with ease.... i still think "i used to not be able to do this" when I put them on.  I will never take it for granted for sure!

it is a wonderful feeling to finally be able to do all the things that used to be impossible or too painful to enjoy.  I still remember the first time I was able to walk up a slight incline and I had no pain.. i remember before surgery..any kind of an incline was really painful to walk up... I got teary eyed when I walked up the hill..and it was only my driveway!!  feeling "fixed" is truly liberating.  I really feel like I got my life back!!!

welcome to the rest of your new life w/out pain!

OK Men, what I want to know is: which is more difficult and unpleasant to talk about - toenails, sh-t, the lack of, or your feelings? ;D

C'mon, guys, let us broads in on this one highly sought after piece of guy code, sub chapter 8.7, particle a2.

I was sooooooo overjoyed about being able to cut my toenails for the first time in 2 years (at about 8 weeks post op) that I cried.  The feeling was so joyous.  I even wrote a poem about it, it's somewhere around here.  You should have smelled the crud from under those poor neglected nails.  Yikes, makes my eyes water just thinking about it.
