34 Days until resurfacing. Medication question.
« on: February 08, 2012, 06:19:07 PM »
I lost the list that Dr. Gross sent me that said what meds had to be discontinued and when prior to surgery. Went to the doctor today for what I think is a muscle tear in my back from weight lifting and she put me on an oral steroid (prednisone or something like that) for 6 days. Is there any problem doing that this close to surgery. I don't want to have to delay the surgery but I have learned that messing your back up is a sure fire way to forget about the hip pain.  >:(  lol

Not sure about steroids, but know for sure aspirin and anything else that may thin the blood is a no-no, given fear of bleeding.  I have my preop exam tomorrow, I'll post what they say.

I emailed Nancy. I ended up finding all the pre op instructions and steroids are not mentioned. 4 weeks for some arthritis drugs but I should be ok.
