2 Year Anniversary
« on: March 15, 2008, 01:32:22 PM »
Today is my 2 year anniversary of my BHR.  I wish I were back sitting in Belgium with a wonderful Belgium beer and a great meal in front of me.  I guess that will only happen in my dreams.

My left BHR is great. Never had any problems from the start and can't Thank Dr. De Smet enough for giving me the great new hip.  No pain in the hip, no heavy meds required after leaving the hospital.

I can do anything I want and sleep all night without pain.

If you are on the fence and can't decide what to do, take it from a 2 year old LBHR that it was the best thing I could have done.  Get my life back and stop being in pain.

You can read my free 65 page book about my experience here  http://www.surfacehippy.info/belgium&mybhrebook.php   It is a very detailed account of my decision to get a BHR, go to Dr. De Smet in Belgium and my post op recovery after returning home.

Pat, congrats on your 2 year NewHipDay!!  I am anxious to get as far down the road as you are (other than it means I will be two years older).  By the way, do you have an incision scar now, or does that go away?

Hi Alan

I still have a scar.  My skin has always scared in a strange way.  Part of it is still red in spots and still itches some.  That is par for the course for me.  My vacination on my arm from when I was small was still red until I was much older.  I guess I am a slow healer.

Thats why I am glad I only got stitches.  Fewer marks.

I think many peoples scar turns white and is very much less visible.

Yea - I guess each year you celebrate your hip anniversary you are a year older - if you are lucky!!!
