Incision opened up
« on: March 20, 2012, 06:56:20 PM »
I had my RBHR done 4 weeks ago and I am now back in the hospital.  I went to see my surgeon today because the incision opened up from my pants belt line rubbing on the incision and the dissolving stitches not dissolving.  Tomorrow morning he is going to take my back to the OR and clean and reseal me up.

Damn, Neil - sorry to hear about that.

I had some deep stitches taken out surgically for the same reason (chest - lung collapsed) about twenty years ago; once the procedure was done, it healed just fine. Hope that goes for you and that the rest of your recovery is good.

Best to you Neil! I had a stitch sticking out of my scar, finally got the guts to start 'tugging' on it.  It broke off and there was a small pc - kind of sharp still there, took the nail clippers and clipped that.  That was at about week 2.  It must have dissolved as it's not coming out any further and it's not infected or bothering me now.

Hope it gets all fixed up and you recover quickly.

The closing of the open incision went great!  I am glad the doctor wanted to do it inpatient instead of packing the open spots and allowing it to close naturally.  I will be home in about 45 minutes.
