First Mountain Bike Ride, WooHoo!
« on: April 14, 2012, 01:50:33 PM »
I'm at five months and I've been putting this off for a while, but I'm starting to feel stronger on the road bike  so since my wife was going out for a short ride this afternoon I pumped up my tires, pumped up my shocks and joined her.  Nice and easy, staying to the flat single track near my house, it felt great.  I'll start back and  little by little it will all come back.  It sure felt great to be back in the woods.

Nothing like exercising in nature and the woods. Congratulations on your maiden mtb journey.  Hope there are many, many more to come.  Just don't go too crazy for a little while yet   :o

Nice Woody...I've yet to do that, still a little freaked about falling because that's what I do in the woods.
I did my first brick today.  50 mile ride followed by a 1.5 mile shuffle.  i'm a little shot but the hip feels good.
D.
ps where's the woods by you?
I am not very far from the fires the other day...was starting to freak a little before they were put out.

I crash all the time.  That's why I've been staying off the mountain bike.  We went nice and easy around Bethpage State Park, it's about a mile from our house on Long Island.  I'll be going out again soon and I just have to fall the first time to prove that I won't break anything and then I'll be fine.

Dave, you're doing great.  I think you'll surprise yourself with some good races this season.

Second moutain bike ride this morning.  I felt really good.  My timing is off and I'm braking in turns that I know I shouldn't but it all felt great.  I might be dreaming but I feel like I'll be ready to race this fall!

Woohoo again!
