It is really great to feel "normal".
I'm sure a lot of people forget about their hip and have points where they don't think about it... I have yet to take my new hip for granted. Sure there are times during the day, or large parts of the day, where I am just doing my job, enjoying life...and I don't "think" about my hip..but I don't think I have gone more than a day without stopping to think "I couldn't do this before surgery" or to just appreciate being pain free. i really think I appreciate my new hip EVERY DAY.
every time I get in/out of my car - I don't have pain as I bring my left let into the car. Every time I tie my shoes, I can reach them, and it doesn't hurt. If I am at the gym...working out... doing a one legged squat! yeah.. couldn't do THAT before surgery.
any my FAVORITE..going to bed at night. Relaxing in a comfy bed, nice new clean sheets...and lay back and .... yes.... NOTHING. quiet. peaceful. NO THROBBING pain in my hip. I can remember being in bed...tossing/turning trying to find a comfy spots...putting pillows between my legs, and no matter what I did it just throbbed and hurt.... i'd get up.. pop more aleve or tramadol.. and hope it stopped hurting enough so I could sleep. Now I can just lay back and enjoy falling asleep peacefully with no pain.
Glad you all liked the video! I will do another one at the 4 year mark.. maybe I'll be doing cartwheels or something..
