My 6 month anniversary! WOO-HOO!

I'm on Dr. Gross' slow protocol for low bone density, so I haven't worked out at all yet. I celebrated today by doing a little bit of a Bar Method workout with some standing work on one leg. YEOW!!! Definitely felt it in the rear muscles.

I also noticed that I have a bit of a fat pocket that sticks out a little in the back bun beneath my scar. It doesn't really show in jeans, but it does in skirts and dresses. I'm hoping that finally being able to exercise will shape it up some.  :P

I still get nervous if I feel a new twinge, but I'm walking normally and pretty much going about my day without thinking about my hip. It's a good feeling.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Great news! I'm glad to hear you're doing so well now. I know you've had a tough recovery, but it sounds like the long term results are worth it.

Early on every time I would feel some odd movement or twinge I would worry that I had damaged myself or my hip. Now, 8 1/2 months out, I don't have those twinges anymore. It all feels completely natural, so I know that time is coming for you.

Go Dessay!

My incision area is lumpy, too. I am hoping that as I get back in shape, the indentation will fall in the place where really fit, lean people have this natural indentation and so everything will look great.

Hey, a girl can dream!

Thanks, guys!

Blinky- I read that the scar can be "tethered" to the tissue below sometimes, so I think I'm going to give it another 6 months. If it doesn't get better, I may have a plastic surgeon "release" the bit of the scar that seems to be sticking. It's one spot up at the top, kind of in the middle of the side of my butt. The fat pocket is pretty significant, especially when I'm standing equal weight on both feet. It sticks out. :)

I'm working out more and walking more and more at school, too. Feels great!!

Cat friend- I'm still having a few twinges here and there, and I think "Oh God, I broke my new hip!" Hasn't happened yet. :)
