K1 Fighting
« on: December 13, 2016, 05:39:52 PM »
Well this saturday i will put my 2 BHR's through their toughest test to date! I some how managed to agree to jumping in to make a old mates retirement fight happen as numerous opponents had pulled out. So on 10 days notice i found myself agreeing to fighting him for the English K1 Heavy Weight belt. Not the smartest move of my life as ive not trained specifically for this but ive been training generally all year and id rather die on my feet than live on my knees. I will of course let you know how i get on!

Seriously though, best of luck, I hope it goes well and look forward to reading the report.

Great job! It's incredible what these fancy new hips are capable of. Keep up the good work.

Thanks I think come the new year when things have settled a little in my life I will try and get down to my old weight of 80-82kilos and have a few more fights before retiring all over again  ;D  the only thing I'm nervous of doing is hard bag and pad work with the kicks. When you kick a persons body you don't get that massive shock wave that you get from a bag or pads. But I enjoyed it. 'Y mate who I fought sent me a message yesterday saying it was the hardest fight of his 100+ fight career and he's never been hit so hard in all his life  ;)  so there's life in this old dog yet....

That's great Danny. I did thai boxing for like 10 years. Yes I would be scared now to kick a swinging 100+ pound bag. I guess I feel fortunate I was able to enjoy it for those years, I don't think I want to push the HR to its limit.

Yeah its the only thing im uneasy doing..... Ive thrown a few 100% low kicks into a banana bag with zero ill effects but im not sure if throwing 3-400 a day into them like i used to would be the best idea.......
I think ill fight again if im honest ill just have to figure a way to train around that..........
