Buttocks Pain (3 years after resurfacing)
« on: May 30, 2017, 01:24:13 PM »
Hi,

I had my left hip resurfaced over 3 years ago.  I've had fantastic results and have returned to a very active lifestyle without any limitations.

Recently, I started to develop pain/soreness in the buttocks on the same side.  I thought it was muscular but stretching doesn't seem to alleviate it at all.

I was wondering if there could be any type of issue / side affect from my resurfacing?  I'd appreciate hearing from anyone with a similar experience or if anyone may have some knowledge or expertise in this area.

Thanks,
Matt

Hey Matt, just wondering if you have changed your routine, overdid it or increased a workout. That might bring about what you describe. Maybe a period of rest, nsaids, foam roller work may be of help.

My concern is whether or not I could be developing metalosis.  I spoke via phone with my surgeon's PA.  He ordered a blood test and I will going in for xrays and an exam next week.  Hopefully that is not the issue, but the soreness is not going away.
