Anyone had surgery in Scotland.. ??
« on: March 21, 2019, 10:25:24 AM »
Hi All,
NHS Story.  I live in Scotland, 43 yrs old and I've had to fight to see a surgeon who can perform a resurfacing procedure, been on the waiting list for well over a year now. Seen 2 previous consultants who both wanted to give me a full hip replacement... Becoming a bit of a nightmare. !!
Just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with surgery in Scotland.. ??

I think its Dominic Meek who I am currently waiting to see... !

If anyone has any positive stories please share with me, getting a bit flat with all this waiting.
Thanks,
Frazer.

I do not know anything about surgeons in Scotland, but I do have one piece of advice. Do not choose a surgeon based on what is close and convenient; choose a surgeon because he is the best you can find, even if it involves extensive traveling. I flew half way around the world to see the surgeon I had the most faith in. I do not know enough about the NHS to know your travel options, but that might be a solution to explore.
