high ion concetrations and...urination frequency?

As posted in other parts of this forum, I recently learned that I have elevated serum Co and Cr levels (11-12), ~1 year following a BHR to my right hip. I'm largely asymptromatic (at present), with perhaps one weird exception that may or may not be related to elevated ion concetrations. Specifically, my urination frequency has gone waaaaaay up (now requiring at least 2-3 'night-time' trips on a good night), with increased frequency during the day also. My guiut hunch is that this might be my bodies attempt to filter out the ions, but I can't find any clinical report making the same connection (surprising, since there are *lots* of reports related to ions and hip procedures - THA or THR notwithstanding).

Anyone else with 'high ion levels' seeing a connection to urination frequency?

Just curious...

I can offer little not being MOM myself but your age and lifestyle can impact the condition you reference.  I would suggest contacting Dr. Pritchett who has published peer reviewed studies on metallosis.  His opinion is worth considering.  FWIW,  he is my surgeon and is recognized as a specialist in complex revisions when they are necessary.  Being asymptomatic as you state, I hope this is nothing you can't ride out.  Have you considered a scan for kidney stones or prostate? Similar symptoms.  Both are fairly ignominious protocols but could rule out the hip.

Frequent visits eh? When you go are you passing a lot or hardly anything (so more you have an urge to go than actually go)? And, during the day do you somehow seem to last hours no problem?

Diet (salt, caffeine among others) causes retention and many small visits including day time. Cure: less salt and lots more water which will flush it out.

I would suggest lots of water, start early in day, and no caffeine from early afternoon, but keep the water going after your last coffee or whatever.

See how that goes. You would see difference in a couple of days max.
