Ok, this has been a topic of late, so go ahead rate the pain that you remember, it would be great for those who are just 24 hours post-op rate yourself right now.

This poll runs for 30 days.

I had no pain after surgery. A little discomfort, I did not like the morphine, and did not really enjoy being in hospital at all for the two days. But no pain.

Thanks for participating in the poll, how is your uncemented hip going?  Although I think Dr. DeSemet could propably implant rusty hammer heads and they would work.  I always hear such good things about that man.

After three and a half months, I can say my resurfaced hip is the best joint in my whole body. It is the only joint that seems to move smoothly in all directions. I am not sure if this is due to being uncemented, maybe this will only be important in ten or twenty years or more.

I believe Dr. De Smet charges extra for rusty hammer heads!

LOL  He must be charging for the iron in the rusty metal, huh?

It's the same with me, it seems that my shoulders and knees now are really bad, my right hip is great too.  I really think the big reason for uncemented is more that it makes the surgery easier and less things to worry about doing.  Time will tell, at least with Dr. Gross so far his patients are doing well, nothing has fallen out of me yet. (knock on wood)

I wonder if a doctor has ever forgotten to cement the femoral component?

Glad to hear you're doing well.
