Ran 40 minutes sow but steady in Bethpage State Park this afternoon. My legs felt heavy from the ride.  All I lack is  fitness, but that will come.

Wow, a 40 minute run.  That's not even in my thinking at the moment.  Great job!!!  How were your hips afterwards.  Were the muscles sore?

I ice after everything, but I've got to tell you that I feel like the only thing I lack is fitness.  My right side feels like there was never anything wrong and my left is just a little behind it.   I feel fatigue in the left buttock muscles, but no pain or soreness.  I've been running (slowly) almost every day this month, alternating between the treadmill where I do 20 minutes increasing turnover, yesterday I got it down to 8:07 per mile for the last 4 minutes, and running on the trail at a steady rate.  It all feels good, cycling is about where I expect it to be; improving every week, and my swimming is lagging behind; I'm working on getting rid of the pull buoy but I haven't kicked in three years so that is going to be the hardest thing.

I know you want to, but my advice to you Jim is don't run everyday. Even if you did not have the bhr surgeries I'd tell you the same thing. Without periodization and rest you might be setting yourself up for some fizzle. You might find your fitness improve faster with a day or two of active rest. Just a thought...

Today was my best run so far; 37 minutes plus 5 walking WU and 5 walking cool down. I was 4 minutes faster than the last time I ran the same route.  It feels like 9:00 pace.  I've run 20 out of the last 23 days, but believe me I'm getting a ton of rest.  I did a very physical job; Heavy Construction Carpenter, 8 to 10 hours a day for my whole life so now if I'm training 20 hours a week I'm not even at half pace.

I appreciate it, but I am getting rest and definitely not over doing it.  The only thing else on my plate today is a trip to the pool. Tomorrow; long bike with my wife and Kerry M is probably it for the day.

# of hours of sleep/rest and allowing specific use muscles to recover are two different things.
I've seen it happen brother many times.
You want a good coach/guidelines?
I could steer you there... ;)
Say Hi to Kerry please...
