All,

As of November 28, 2012 it's been two weeks from my left HR with Dr Gross.  Everything is progressing well.  Scar is healing, mobility is improving, pain is very minimal if at all, doing post op exercises and walks. I'm amazed that after two weeks I can stand on the operated hip and walk with a cane and slight limp. Every day it gets better. OA pain is gone.

Thoughts

- the morning brings a new stiffness that takes about 15 minutes to work out
- I'm tired of sitting around
- going back to work Friday for half day
- tall toilet is a must
- recliner is a must
- I want to sleep on my side but have not tried yet. Maybe today.
- enjoying walks with my 9 year old twins after lunch
- Suh kicked Schaub on purpose.
- My wife rocks

Nice update Brad.  Glad things are going so well.  I am doing about the same.  Will try to post a few updates shortly.

BTW, I did manage to sleep some on my side.  The key was a big firm pillow tucked between my legs from knees down to feet.  Then roll over slowly, very slowly.  I was amazed at how easy it was.  Didn't sleep all night like that, but for several hours and that gave my back a break.  Give it a try.

I may try the side sleep trick tonight.

All normal Brad, good luck on sleeping on the side, I started at five weeks, but if you can do it, more power to you.

I used the pillow between the legs and have a tempurpedic matress, but I could not sleep on my un-operated side until about week 4 and operated side was later, and then it was still sore.  I hope it works for you to try a few hours on the side.  I get my best rest that way.

I am 10 days post op and have had some success sleeping on non-operated side as well  about 2 hours.

Sounds awesome, Brad.  I'm a back sleeper, so I can't answer there.

I have Netflix, so I passed a lot of time that way.  Once walking a mile was easy, I went crazy until the 6-week point.  After that, it was better.

I agree with all your "thoughts".  Suh is a jerk.
