Hi. I haven't been back here in years but decided to check in today. I had one hip done in 06 and the other done in 07. I waited way too long to have them done. The surgery/recovery is nowhere near as bad as you think it will be. If you are in constant pain and unable to do the things you enjoy then get it done soon. You will not regret it one bit. I'm able to do everything I used to do and have no pain anymore. Just have it done by someone who has done a lot of them and have somebody with you to help you recover for a couple months. Best wishes.

All I am going to say is that when I saw McMinn in August 2011 for the first time I wasn't bone on bone, by the time I gave in in November I was. So things can change rapidly.

I was reading some old posts.

Not sure if you elected for surgery or not, but after fifty years of playing soccer and running three or four days a week, I was on a dozen Advil a day and could hardly walk.

I had my left hip resurfaced (normal for right footed players) on August 18th, 2014. Five months later I feel like a spring lamb, I have not been this lite on my toes for decades. I am coaching soccer six hours a week, moving freely and able to demonstrate with no problems. I started to ride a bike eight weeks post op and I am back in the gym.

I feel like a different person thanks to DC Drinkwater

Hi Mike.
Pretty much similar to me except you are10 years older. I would do it and not even think about it, of course go through all the surgery questions first.
Good luck.
