Hi, I'm new on here. I  know its early but desperately want to get back to 'normal' and thought I would be better than I am at 10/7 post op, still quite uncomfortable but not taking anything, walking with 2 crutches and think I will be for the 4/52 I was told to, some people seem to give them up much sooner, getting some pain in my groin and knee, is this 'normal' ? Thanks

Hi,
I was feeling a little slow around the 10 day mark.  I dramatically improved in my 3rd week.  I woke up one morning and didn't need the crutches.  I'm 20 days post now and dramatically improving everyday.  I also had pain in my groin, thigh, knees (both legs) and back.  All the pain is slowly going away.  Hang in there and keep doing your therapy and walking.  Don't forget to ice often.
Good luck,
Mark

Hi,

You received your BHR from the man himself, so rest assured you will get back to normal.

You are very early into your recovery and still getting over a major operation, there are lots of improvements, some small, some large, the three week period seems a common one and also six weeks seems another.

Honestly you will improve..

Did you manage to get a smile from Chandra !!!

Best wishes

Terry

Hi

10 days post op is early in your recovery.  Just be patient.  Listen to your body.  If it hurts - don't do it.  You body will heal at it's own rate, you can't will it to heal faster.  We all heal at our own rate.  Wait a few months, then you will see how well you feel and how great you will be getting around.

You had one of the best resurfacing surgeons in the world - keep the faith.  It will get better.

Good Luck.
