Does anyone have a numb, achy feeling on the hip area,  right where it seems they put the steel ?? seems to be just that one spot .... please let me know (i am 4 weeks post op.).....

Todd

Blitz,

I have a similar numb feeling where the incision was--numb to the touch. I've heard that is somewhat common.  There is also a different sensation where the new hip is.  I wouldn't describe mine as numb, but it certainly has a different feeling if massaging it.  Now that the swelling is mostly gone, I think there's a new sensation when feeling that area.  For the past week or so, I've had more achy pain in the hip due to working the muscles and more movement, which I would attribute to PT and working some muscles that didn't see any action in the first couple weeks after surgery.  Are you going to PT?
