Just wanted to hear from others who did not have another person accompany them on the return trip home from a surgery out of country--was it hard to fetch meals on your own after hospital discharge, manage your luggage, navigate the airport, etc?  Do you have any tips or lessons learned?  I'm thinking of going to Chennai, India and am trying to visualize doing all this stuff with 2 arm crutches???  Any responses from seasoned solo travelers would be much appreciated!  Barb

I can only speek about going to Chennia
I went alone and had no problem with my luggage.
I traveled light only my carry on suite case and fanny pack for small items.
I traveled from Montana and the farthest I packed my suit case was from the parking lot in Great Falls Montana to the terminal.
My advice is to travel light going to India and buy the stuff you like at a great price and ship it back or buy another suit case.
I did not use a wheel chair until I came home but if you want get threw security and customes and shuttle to your gate fast and with ease I would recomend taking a wheel chair both ways. The airlines can be alerted ahead of time when you make your flight arrangments.
I personally would use world Med assit agiain even though I now know the game but for all of my needs the price is excellent and it saves all the travel hassel. I was in contact with my World Med Assit consultant every leg of my journey.
They even have a personal driver at the terminal in Chennia to shuttle you to your hotel. I even got the same driver to and from the hospital and back to the airport on my departure.
People in India are always willing to help a traveler.
Send me a PM if you like and I will give you all the info you need for a solo trip to Chennia.
I would do it again in a heart beat.
The Mumbai airport is a bit confusing but the people and customers service for wheel chair people is great.
