10/23/10 Dr. Su Right Hip Resurfacing at Hospital for Special Surgery. Amazing Doctor!! Amazing Hospital!! I'm home since 10/25/10 i feel great. I stopped taking pain medications today. I sought the advice of others hip resurfacing doctors. No other hip doctors would perform the surgery because of a cyst I had on the head of my femur. Dr. Su was up for the challenge and I am grateful for that. I am 39 years old and ran over 12 Marathons NY and Boston. I still play Goalie (Hockey) 3 days a week, coach and officiate also. So the thought of getting back to my active lifestyle is anticipated. My pain was ridiculous and I could not even walk. Even now post op my pain is better than it was going in. This is enough for now more to follow.

Hey Jim,

I had my hip resurfaced at HSS on 10/22 by Dr Mayman. I was on the 7th floor. We probably went past each other in the hallway. I agree, amazing Hospital.

The 4th Floor Post op room - was soooo great the nurses kept constant care of me. I was watching the playoffs not wanting to go to the next floor for actual admitting! My Physical Therapist was awsome - ill look at her card and post it here later. I hope your hip is doing fine- I am already off my pain killers. Just Tea with honey and trying to rest!!
