My friend just had back surgery at Grant Medical Center in Columbus OH.  I can't say enough about the wonderful facility and staff.  All the orthopedic patients are in private roooms where the families can stay.  The facility is new and so clean.  The staff is first rate.

I mention this because Dr. Kusuma, who does Birmingham hip resurfacing, uses that facility.  He is an excellent hip resurfacing surgeon and the care at Grant is first rate.  It is always good to know about the doctors and the facilities they use.  The Holiday Inn is 2 blocks away and runs a shuttle wherever you want to go.  The rate is $65 a night for famillies with patients in the hospital. The parking is valet parking and free.  An easy to use hospital with friendly folks everywhere.

My friend had an 8 hour surgery for his back.  He made it to 69 and never had any surgery - surprised now about recovery.  Slow, a bit painful and requiring a lot of patience.  People here know and understand that!
