Easy ride yesterday mainly pushing the big ring with 3 sustained low gear climbs just steep enough to get the deep breathing going. Did about 15 miles in an hour. Felt just a little bit of stiffness at the incision about 4 hours later but it went away quickly and no stiffness this morning.

It feels wonderful to ride again and I'm now doing everything I did pre-op with the exception of running. Of course the bike fitness is a ways off, although that has nothing to do with the operated leg which actually felt better than the other leg while riding.

So now I see I have a new goal, with Hipnhop going 56 miles in just under 3 hours at 3 months post op. To do that I'll need to find someplace flatter. We have a beautiful ride that we do from our house - or will do once the bike fitness returns - but it has a series of monster climbs, including 1.1 miles at a 9% grade, and a half mile at a 11% grade, all at the end of the ride to get back to the house, all above 6000 feet elevation. The competition never ends.....

Good news - take it easy on the big gear - that is hard work!!!!!!  I had a great ride last night - not at the pace of some of the fast kids but it was 35 miles with the "honey bee" group - moved up from hanging with the "c" group last year.  Have fun
