So was I Anna, I noticed it when ironing, that back and forth movement generated the squeakiness which had me turning about.

I stopped moving and it stopped, I started again and squeak city. Moved to the seat, it stopped. Started getting nervous and planning the phone call to Dr. Snyder, then stood up, squeaked around and looked down, noticed the belt was undone and my belt buckle hanging free and squeaking like there's no tomorrow.

I immediately confessed to my hippy brethren.

Yingo, congrats on the upcoming!

You should start your own thread to keep us updated, makes it easier to track you down. Sounds like you're going to join us on the other side, you'll feel so fine without that OA companion.

Let us know any time you feel like talking, my limp and pain are all gone on both sides.

Well I'm 38+ weeks now. I've had a few issues both mentally and physically since my running incident. I'm now really struggling mentally to motivate myself to do anything

You may well be right Anna but right now I don't see what I can be positive about. Stupid I know. I'm the grand scheme of things I've got it easy compared to others but like I've said before this has had such a profound effect on my life I cant see how I can get where I want to be.  :(

Hi Danny, it breaks my heart to hear you so down.  You have come such a long way, you've shed the crippling OA pain and you are only 38 weeks post op. improvements are now slow, really slow. Why don't you start a record of measurements so you can see improvements? It is easy to forget how much you really HAVE achieved and all recoveries have setbacks. Hang in there Danny, you are a positive person and you CAN get through this. Believe in yourself. Big hugs xxxxxx

Danny I have been on the emotional roller coaster since my fracture, but hang in there mate there is light at the end of every tunnel but some tunnels just go on a bit longer than others. Could be worse you could be me :).
I have been so down so many times but then I start to feel better. I am really trying to beat the odds and think I am getting there. I wouldn't set me up as a good example as I take too many risks and overdo things but as we say in Norfolk "Keep You on a Troshin".

Thanks for the support guys. I'm still pretty threaders at the moment which is a combination of a lot of things. Not least the fact that this disease and consiquent operation has eliminated all of my future prospects. All of the things I wanted to do career wise(which were hard enough to get into anyway) are now totally off limits I'm not even able to able to apply on grounds of occupational health etc. Add on to this still feeling that I won't return to the standard that I wanted to in my sports and hobbies and the inpending issues with my shoulder I'm pretty threaders

Hang in there Danny, you are not fully healed yet. You are young and have a long life ahead mate. I know it's tough at the moment but try to stay positive. If, and I do mean IF some possibilities are closed to you in the future, you are intelligent and motivated and have youth on your side. If a door seems closed it's only because another one is opening.

Best wishes.

Well im 40+ weeks now. I'm still pretty fed up. This has now probably cost me a good percentage of my income. I was at work last night in a response type role for a large concert I had a lot of walking to do and I mean ALOT! well again at the end of the night a incident erupted and my call sign along with others had to respond on foot. Well I physically couldn't do it. Im now in the sad position of having to say no to work that I need but can't honestly be counted on as I'm not physically able to do. I'm proper proper fed up!!

Danny-
Sorry to read about your situation mate.
When I first came on here, you were just about to have your surgery so as you know I followed your progress a lot.
I remember you talking about having enormous thigh muscles, with all the martial arts you do, and saying an awful lot of them would be cut.
Is there any chance that this could be having a bearing on what's happening now?
Could it be that it will take far longer than normal for you due to the huge amount of muscle that's been disturbed?
It sounds a bit of an easy answer, I know, but wondered if you'd considered it.

Mate I've considered pretty much everything. But I don't know how that could give me the symptoms I'm having now.

Danny - I seem to remember you telling us before, but exactly what symptoms are you having? Does it feel muscular, tenderness, sharp pain, irritated ligament? Where is the pain? I'm no expert but someone may be able to help or had a similar issue. I know you aren't in favour of physios's but is it worth seeing one to check your walking gait/posture, seeing as excessive walking seems to start it, maybe a running shop will do this. The pain could be reffered pain from your back or knee, which maybe could be corrected with better supporting shoes or heel uplift or retraining certain muscles. Are your boots worn out? If so is there an obvious wear pattern (over pronate etc.). As you are probably well aware the slightest problem niggle somewhere can have a knock on affect.

I am having three issues at the moment probably caused by the hip but not directly related. The first being my left glute muscles are not activating properly, they have not been properly used for years, which causes other muscles to over work and tire, which is an issue with walking. The second is a tight pelvis and certain core muscles which can hinder a proper walking gait - I have been recomended to do Core muscle/Pilates type excercises. Very few people have a proper ideal walking gait and even less have a proper running gait. The third being problems with the right achilles tendon.

I know you probably know all this but I really want to help you.

Thanks morph. You are correct I hate physios with a passion. Never met a good on and I've been treated by I reckon 40+ over the years.
My main symptoms are pain around the psoas and tfl(this is a burning and aching pain which does get quite intense I'd say on a scale of 1-10 it can be a 7+) also I get pain around the greater throcanter and all the way down my ITB. I get periodic severe pain around glute mead.
I can almost feel the infalmation happening when I have to walk lond distance or stand for extended periods.
I also still have what I believe to be proprioception problems ie my body not knowing where the joint is.
I'm soooo fed up of this now. I had this op because I had bad OA and needed to be able to get back to earning money and to some sort of normality. But now 40+ weeks into this I don't feel that I'm anywhere closer to that. Infact I feel now that I've spunked my one and only option and still not got where I needed to be.
