I have an update medical in a few weeks to rejoin the reserve army!  ;) I'm hoping all goes well and ill be back in. Obviously even though I'm going back to an infantry unit I'm going to be taking it very very easy and initially I'm hoping to be in the stores. Ill see how things progress from there.
I am writing this sat in my accommodation on the eve of starting my close protection course. These are all things that I couldn't even have dreamed of even jut 12 months ago!

That's brilliant news - let's hope all goes well. You've put in a tremendous amount of effort to regain your fitness. You're a young guy who deserves a successful future. Close protection course too - sounds like your BHR is really going to have to earn its living.

I make no bones about the fact I'm still not 100% but I've gained something since the diagnosis of OA. I'm way way more driven than I was prior. I was very driven in certain things but now I'm driven in most aspects of my life. For me that's a plus and something that's positive about this saga for me.

I finished my close protection course on Sunday evening. It was a very tough course and involved a lot of physical activity. There was no way I could have done it 12 months ago and jut what the hip didn't even bother me at all! For the last few week I can honestly say I'm unaware of having a BHR! It's incredable!
Got my medical to rejoin the reserve infantry soon too! I'm hoping I pass that!!

I'll cross stuff too. I think the distance between here and London will add crossing strength, so it's almost guaranteed.  ;)

Just thought I'd do a quick update as not posted on here for a while. Well I passed my Army medical a few weeks ago and re attested about 2 weeks ago :) although now I'm back in I really don't want to be doing the warry infantry stuff for too long as I think it's just not sensible! My days of running 8 mile cft's with 50lbs are probably over but I plan on moving into other specialisations in the future.

On another front I have been steadily getting back into grappling. I've been training Judo twice a week and have started bjj once a week also now. The hip has been holding up great! It's the rest of me! I was thrown real heavy by one of the black belts on Monday which twinged some o my groin muscles but other than the odd muscle pull in the hip area it's great!

My shoulder however is getting really bad. It's causing issues with my neck all the time. I fear that ill have to go under the knife to solve that before long :(

Physically I'm still not in my mega fit state I used to be in but that's due to the hours I work rather than the bhr! I'm working 65-72hrs a week >:(

Anyone who is reading this and is thinking about getting a bhr follow this advice to see a TOP TOP SURGEON and this procedure really can give you your life back!
